MEDRAD Interventional/Possis designs and manufactures a line of Thrombectomy Catheters used for removing thrombus (blood clots) from blood vessels.  These unique catheters utilize a high pressure (8,000 to 12,000 psi) saline jet stream directed through orifices in distal tip of the catheter shaft.  These jets generate a localized low-pressure zone (Bernoulli Effect) that results in thrombus entrainment and fragmentation.   These jets also provide the driving force that evacuates the thrombus particles through the catheter and out of the body.

INCOSE: Spring Tutorial on Project Management and Systems Engineering

INCOSE North Star Chapter Spring Tutorial
Systems Management: The Integration of Systems Engineering and Project Management at
BAE Systems in Fridley
8:30am Registration
9:00am - 4:30pm Program

This one-day tutorial provides understanding, knowledge, and insight into the integration of project and engineering management focusing on the planning, management, and execution of complex industrial projects in domains such as defense, aerospace, automotive, energy, information technology, and telecom.

The course combines lectures with exercises focusing on the essential idea of treating systems engineering and project management in an integrated fashion. Visual models (including the Vee, the Dual-Vee, and the Wheel and Axle) are explained and are used to effectively highlight the key issues, techniques, and tools to achieve success. In this class you will learn the key concepts behind the five essentials of project management: Organizational Commitment, Communication, Teamwork, Project Cycle, and the Ten Project Management Elements. Several development paradigms including iterative and agile development approaches are discussed and explained.

Systems engineering and project management concepts presented in this course are consistent with ISO/IEC 15288:2008 – Systems engineering – System life cycle processes. The course is also consistent with the newest INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook version 3.2 (January 2010), which will be the basis for the Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) examination as of late April 2010.
